Senior Staff Accountant Opportunity
We’re seeking a dedicated Senior Staff Accountant who brings enthusiasm, a drive for excellence, and a commitment to our core values. You’ll play a key role in delivering seamless behind-the-scenes support, helping shape memorable guest experiences while upholding our Golden Rule in every interaction. U.S. work authorization is required.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, you’ll help manage general ledger activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and oversee essential finance operations like payroll, accounts payable, and cashiering—all while ensuring adherence to company and local standards. Key responsibilities include:
Team Support and Collaboration
- Build positive, professional relationships across departments and with our corporate office.
- Partner with leaders to maintain strong internal controls and protect resort assets.
- Guide teams on payroll, labor standards, and finance-related operations for accuracy and efficiency.
- Mentor junior finance staff to foster growth and prepare for future roles.
- Step in to assist during busy periods or absences, providing cross-functional support.
- Enforce company standards and conduct regular training sessions for managers on finance best practices.
Accounting and Reporting
- Stay current on accounting guidelines, including USALI standards.
- Handle daily and monthly tasks like journal entries, accruals, ledger updates, and financial reporting.
- Prepare timely month-end statements and reconcile balance sheets and bank accounts, resolving issues quickly.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparations with thorough documentation.
- Participate in inventory counts and ensure compliance with record-keeping policies.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes for greater efficiency.
Financial Oversight and Profitability
- Accurately track revenue and support daily business reporting.
- Manage house funds and floats to minimize risks.
- Analyze labor reports, discuss variances with department heads, and lead weekly labor meetings.
- Help develop and refine labor standards, recommending improvements as needed.
- Collaborate on labor forecasts and monitor overall financial health to support the resort’s success.
What We’re Looking For
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (L-1 Visa sponsorship may be available for current Four Seasons managers at other properties).
- Physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs and handle pushing/pulling as required.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules.
- Strong analytical skills, business judgment, and strategic thinking.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP, corporate policies, and finance software (proficiency in Excel is essential; experience with
- Sun, Birchstreet, or Opera systems is a plus).
- Excellent communication skills for reports, presentations, and team facilitation.
