Job Description

At Tarpon Specialty Services, we’re a dynamic recruitment and staffing company based in the charming coastal town of Aransas Pass, Texas—just a short drive from Corpus Christi. We specialize in placing talented professionals in healthcare and skilled trades roles across the U.S. Right now, we’re growing our healthcare team and launching an exciting new focus on bringing registered nurses from Canada and Mexico to American healthcare facilities through TN visa sponsorship programs.

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Nursing Recruiter to help us pioneer our international nursing program. Based in Aransas Pass, TX, you’ll play a key role in connecting skilled Canadian and Mexican RNs with rewarding opportunities in U.S. hospitals and clinics. This isn’t just another recruiting job—it’s a chance to build something from the ground up, handle cross-border talent acquisition, and make a meaningful difference in addressing healthcare staffing needs while helping nurses advance their careers.

If you’ve got solid experience in healthcare recruiting, a good grasp of the nursing field, and enthusiasm for working with international candidates, we’d love to hear from you.

What You will Do Day-to-Day

  • Manage the complete recruiting process: sourcing, screening, interviewing, and placing RNs in positions nationwide.
  • Develop targeted strategies to attract nurses from key areas in Canada (like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, and Calgary) and Mexico.
  • Assist candidates with TN visa applications, working alongside immigration experts to ensure smooth processes.
  • Build and nurture a strong pipeline of qualified international nurses.
  • Research markets and trends to identify the best talent pools.
  • Foster lasting relationships with candidates, keeping them engaged from initial contact through placement.
  • Partner with U.S. healthcare employers to understand their needs and find the perfect matches.
  • Handle negotiations for salaries, benefits, and offers.
  • Create engaging job ads, run outreach campaigns, and promote opportunities in international nursing communities.
  • Keep detailed records in our applicant tracking system, track metrics, and ensure everything complies with immigration laws, licensing rules, and industry standards.

Who We’re Looking For

Must-Have Skills and Experience:
  • At least 3 years in nursing or healthcare recruitment (such as travel nursing, permanent placements, or working with recruitment process outsourcing).
  • Deep knowledge of nursing roles, specialties, licensing, and what healthcare facilities need.
  • Proven success in full-cycle recruiting, from finding candidates to final placements.
  • Creative sourcing abilities using platforms like LinkedIn, job boards, social media, and more.
  • Comfort with applicant tracking systems (ATS), CRM tools, and other recruiting tech.
  • Outstanding communication skills to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong relationship-building talent and a drive to hit goals.
  • Excellent organization, with a sharp eye for details—especially around compliance and paperwork.
Nice-to-Have Extras:
  • Background in international recruiting or visa programs (like TN, H-1B, or similar).
  • Familiarity with TN visa specifics for nurses.
  • Understanding of healthcare systems or nursing qualifications in Canada or Mexico.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish or French are a big plus.
  • Experience with high-demand specialties like ICU, ER, Med-Surg, Telemetry, Labor & Delivery, or Operating Room.
  • Knowledge of NCLEX exams and U.S. licensure steps.
  • A degree in HR, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, high-volume environments, including remote teams.

The ideal person thrives on finding great talent, loves the idea of expanding into international waters, and is meticulous when dealing with visa and compliance details.

You care deeply about supporting nurses in their career journeys and helping fill vital roles in U.S. healthcare.

What We Offer

  • A competitive base salary based on your experience.
  • Uncapped commissions tied to your performance for real earning growth.
  • Generous paid time off and holidays.
  • Opportunities for professional growth, including training on immigration topics and healthcare trends.
  • Room to advance potentially leading the division as it grows.
  • Hybrid remote work options after your initial onboarding period.
  • A supportive, collaborative team in a growing company.

Our office in Aransas Pass has a relaxed yet professional vibe, with easy access to beautiful Gulf Coast beaches, fishing spots, and outdoor activities. It’s the perfect mix of small-town feel and proximity to bigger-city perks in Corpus Christi.
